JOINT RESOLUTION NO.2005-02
A JOINT RESOLUTION BETWEEN THE TOWN OF TAOS AND TAOS
COUNTY TO TURN LOS PONDOS ROAD INTO A ONE-WAY STREET
RUNNING WEST TO EAST FROM DOLAN STREET TO WITT ROAD
TEMPORARILY FOR 60 DAYS.
WHEREAS,Los Pondos Road running West to East from Dolan Street to Witt Road is a
narrow stretch of road that is bordered on the North by the Rio Don Fernando which is a
public safety concern if it continues to remain a two-way road.
WHEREAS,This stretch of Los Pondos Road's is a narrow,portion of the road is being
eroded by the Rio Don Fernando which raises safety concerns which can either be
addressed by widening the road or turning it into a one-way road.
WHEREAS,Widening this stretch of Los Pondos Road will involve a great deal of time,
resources, and acquisition of right-of-way,which are not currently available.
WHEREAS, the more timely and prudent measure is to temporarily turn this stretch of
Los Pondos Road into a one-way road for 60 days to study whether such action is the
solution to the safety concerns.
WHEREAS,The Town and the County will give advance notice by radio,newspaper,
posting, and mailing notice to those within 100 feet of the affected stretch of Los Pondos
Road, that it will be turned into a one-way road temporarily for 60 days.
NOW THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED that the Town of Taos Council and the Taos
County Commission jointly:
1. That Los Pondos Road running from West to East from Dolan Street to Witt Road
will be temporarily turned into a one-way road for 60 days.
2. The public will receive 30 days advance notice before such action is taken by:
a. publishing such proposed action in both Spanish and English in a
newspaper of general circulation;
b. announcing on the local radio station both in English and Spanish;
c. by notifying property owners within 100 feet of the proposed effected
area of Los Pondos Road by certified mail return receipt requested;
d. and by posting such proposed action of the 60 temporary transition of Los
Pandos Road running West to East from Dolan Street to Witt Road into a
one-way road.
3. Written Public comments will be accepted both by the Town of Taos and Taos
e' County during this 30 day period prior to the proposed closure.

® 4. At the next Joint Meeting of the Town of Taos Council and the Taos County
Commission in June,2005 public comments will be received.

TOWN OF TAOS EMPLOYEE
HOLIDAY SCHEDULE
WHEREAS, Town of Taos, Regular and Term employees are entitled to holiday leave on those dates
authorized by the Town Council.
BE IT RESOLVED,that Presidents Day be officially recognized the day after Thanksgiving Day and that
Columbus Day be officially recognized the Friday before Christmas.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, by the Town Council of the Town of Taos, New Mexico, that the
Employee Holiday Schedule for the calendar year of 2005 is approved for the Town of Taos Employees.
The schedule is based on the provision in Title III,Chapter 3.88, Section 3.88.150, of the Municipal Code
of the Town of Taos.
