HomeMy WebLinkAbout2021-01-28 Joint Session: Town Council and Taos County •� AU MINUTES Joint Work Session Meeting Between Town of Taos Council and Taos County Board of Commissioners Virtual Meeting January 28, 2021 2:00 p.m. (Note: Meeting was conducted in accordance with the Attorney General's guidelines and observed the Governor's executive orders and the Secretary of Health's public health orders.) 1. CALL TO ORDER The Honorable Mayor Daniel R. Barrone called the Joint Work Session Meeting between the Town of Taos Council and the Taos County Board of Commissioners to order at 2:02 p.m. 2. ROLL CALL OF THE RESPECTIVE BODIES BY THE CLERK(S) On behalf of the Town of Taos Town Clerk Francella Garcia called roll and a quorum was present. Those present were: Mayor, Daniel R. Barrone Mayor Pro Tern Nathaniel Evans Councilmember Darien D. Fernandez Councilmember George "Fritz" Hahn Councilmember Pascualito Maestas Also present were: Town Manager Richard Bellis Town Clerk Francella Garcia On behalf of the Taos County Board of Commissioners County Clerk Valerie Montoya called roll and a quorum was present. Those present were: Commissioner Jim Fambro, District Page 1 of 3 Commissioner and Vice Chair Darlene Vigil, District 3 Commissioner AnJanette Brush, District 4 Also present were: County Manager Brent Jaramillo County Clerk Valorie Montoya Absent/Excused was: Commissioner Mark Gallegos, District 2 Commissioner and Chair Candyce O'Donnell, District 5 3. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Commissioner Vigil. 4. MOMENT OF SILENCE Moment of Silence was observed, and a brief period of reflection was made by Councilmember Maestas. 5. APPROVAL OF AGENDA Councilmember Hahn made a motion to approve the agenda. Commissioner Fambro seconded the motion. The motion passed unanimously. 6. TOPICS FOR DISCUSSION A. Solid waste and recycling B. Coordinating Town and County Lodgers Tax and/or Short-term Rental Ordinances C. Status of Herdner Road affordable housing project (a brief staff update) D. Coordinating post-COVID economic development efforts E. Town request for use of right-of-way on specific County roads for utility installation 7. NEXT MEETING DATE AND POSSIBLE TOPICS (The next Town of Taos Council and Taos County Board of Commissioners Joint Work Session Meeting was scheduled for February 25, 2021, at 2:00 p.m.) 8. ADJOURNMENT A motion was made by Mayor Pro Tern Evans and seconded by Commissioner Vigil to adjourn the meeting.
