SECTION 12
That the Board of Trustees has determined -and does hereby
determine that it is necessary for the protection of the public health
that owners of improved property within the Village of Taos be required
to connect their industrial, business and residential establishments to
the municipal sewer system within one year after sewer service is avail-
able for such properties, and thereafter cease to use other methods of
sewage disposal.
In the event any owner, agent or other person coming within
the scope of this paragraph fails or refuses to make such connections , being
requested to do so by the management of the system, the Village shall dis-
continue the furnishing of water to such property or premises.
SECTION 13
It is hereby expressly provided that it shall be unlawful
for the owner or any other person having charge of or occupying any
property upon which a building is being constructed, or shall have been
constructed for residential, commercial or industrial use, to construct
or permit to be constructed any privy,, vault, septic tank or cess-pool
in connection with or to be used from such building, any part of which is
within 300 (Three Hundred) feet of any street, alley or way in which a
public sewer is then in existence in the Village, any owner or any person
having charge of any building of any type now being furnished water and
utilizing plumbing facilities and presently connected to a cess pool, vault,
or septic tank, shall cease using such septic tank, vault or cess-pool, and
shall be required to connect to the public sewer, all within one year from
the date when the � public sewer is available to such building, pro-
vided such public sewer is within 300 feet of such building.
