516A i I TOWN OF TAGS ORDINANCES YEAR: / 952 NUMBER: � �t A O R D I N A N C E BE IT ORDAINED by the Mayor and the Council of the Town of Taos, that, WHEREAS, there are certain territories contiguous to the Town of Taos (+ which meet the requirements of Section 14 .6 8 of the New Mexico Statutes j� Annotated, 1953 Compilation, and i' WHEREAS, said ter,•itor•ies have been substantially built up and wherein exist more than two ousiness or commercial establishments, and, WHEREAS, the inhabitants thereof are enabled to secure the benefits of (; city oi• town government in police and fire protection and can be furnished j� j� with light and water by the Town of Taos, I BE IT THEREFORE RESOLVED that the following tracts of contiguous (i territory are hereby declared to be incorporated into the Town of Taos, to-wi : #I i Parcel No. 1 is described as follows: Ij Starting at the Northwest corner of the corporate limits of the i' Town of Taos where the Rio Pueblo leaves the Taos Indian Pueblo Lands, thence on a Westerly direction to the Northwest corner of Tract 1, Map 9, New Mexico Reassessment Survey No. 2; thence along �i the West boundary of said Tract 1, Map 9, New Mexico Reassessment j Survey No. 2 to the point where said line meets New Mexico State jj Road No. 3; thence along said road on an Easterly direction to the �I corporate limits of the Town of Taos. j; Parcel No. 2 is described as follows: Starting at a point on the Placitas-Cordovas Road where the pl-e- sent corporate limits meet said road, thence along said road on a Southerly direction to the junction of the Camino del Ranchito ! j� Arriba with the Placitas-Cordovas Road; thence along the said Camino del Ranchito Arriba to the junction of said road with I� the Carabhaal Road. I' A third tract of land is described as follows: i Starting at the junction of the Cruz Alta Road with the Camino del Ranchito, thence along said Cruz Alta Road to where the said !' Cruz Alta Road crosses the Taos Creek; thence along the said Taos Creek to the Southwest corner of Tract 138, Map 12, New Mexico Reassessment Survey No. 2; thence in a Southerly direction along the Western line of Tract 11, Map 21, New Mexico Reassessment Survey No. 2, this also being the West line of the Randall II r� addition, to a point along the North boundary of the Cristobal j de la Serna Grant; thence on an Easterly direction along the ' fj North boundary of the Cristobal de la Serna Grant to the Southeast corner of Tract 37, Map 20, New Mexico Reassessment Survey No. 2; i! thence on a Northerly direction to the Northwest corner of T.-act 36, Map 20, New Mexico Reassessment Survey No. 2; thence on a �I Westerly direction to the Northwest corner of Tract 36, Map 201 New Mexico Reassessment Survey No. 2; thence on a Northerly direction along the West line of Ti-act 35, Map 20, New Mexico Reassessment Survey No. 2 to the Taos Creek; thence on an �j Easterly direction along said creek to the corporate limits l along the Los Pandos Road. j' I! -1- !� f j � The fourth parcel of land is described as follows: Starting at a point where the Dolan Avenue meets the Taos Creek, thence East along said creek to the East line of the Dolan addition; thence on.a Northerly direction along the East line of the Dolan Addition to the New Mexico State Road No. 64 which is the present corporate limits of the Town of Taos. IT IS FURTHER ORDAINED BY THIS BODY that a copy of this resolution to- gether with a copy of the plats of the territory so annexed be filed in the Office of the County Clerk of Taos County and that from and after such filing said contiguous territories shall be included in and be a part of the said Tovn of Taos for all purposes.
