AN ORDINANCE CREATING AN INTERIM BOARD OF ZONING ADJUSTMENT:
WHEREAS, Article IX of the Zoning Ordinance of the Town of Taos provic?as for the
creation of a five (5) member Board of Zoning Adjustment, and
WHEREAS, since the adoption of the Zoning, Ordinance on March 1, 1963 , the Board
of Zoning Adjustment has not been appointed or approved, and
WHEREAS, it has become necessary for the Planning and Zoning Commission of the
Town of Taos to withhold final action on request.,j for interpretation and variances to
the existing Zoning, Regulations,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MAYOR AND THE COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF TAOS, that until
such time as a Board of Zoning Adjustment is appointed by the Mayor and approved by
the Council, the Planning and Zoning Commission is hereby authorized to act as and in
the capacity of the Board of Adjustment with all of the powers and duties of said Board
as is created under the Zoning Ordinance and Subdivision Regulations in the above re-
ferenced Article IX and said Board shall be known as the Interim Board of Zoning Adjust-
ment.

INS7KJCTIONS TO ELECTOR: Each elector shall prepare his ballot
indicating his approval or disapproval of each proposition submitted by
piacing a cross (X) in the square opposite the group of words on his ballot
which expresses his choice on each proposition and shall then deposit his
ballot in the separate ballot box provided for such purpose.
1. Shall the Board of Trustees of the Town of Taos, New Mexico, be
authorized to incur an indebtedness for and on behalf of said
municipality by issuing its negotiable coupon, general obligation
bonds, in one series or more in the aggregate principal amount
of not exceeding $75, 000. 00, or so much thereof as may be nec-
essary, for the purpose of securing funds for the construction,
enlarging, improving and extending the water system of the Town

Pursuant to the direction and order of, and on behalf of,
the Board of Trustees (Herein sometimes designated as the "governing
body" of the Village of Taos (herein sometimes designated as
the "municipality"), New Mexico, and in accordance with the pro-
visions of Section 11-6-13, New Mexico Statutes Annotated, 1953,
you ave hereby notified that the municipality contemplates the
issuance of the following general obligation bonds, which are apy-
ab le from ad valorem taxes:
1. Sanitary Sewer $90,000.00
2. Water $75,000.00
Attached hereto as Exhibit A is a statement showing the
amount of general obligation bonds and otho- obligations constitut-
ing a "debt" or an "indebtedness" of the municipality, as the terms
"debt" and indebtedness" are used in Sections 12 and 13, Article IX,
new Mexico constitution.
It iR our understanding that the value of the taxable
property within the municipality is $3,004, 340. 00 as shown by the
last preceding assessment for county taxes.
In accordance with Section 11-6-14, New Mexico Statutes
Annotated, 1953, you are requested, upon the receipt of this notice,
to furnish the governing body for the municipality with all neces-
sari information with reference to the valuation, present outstand-
ing bonded indebtedness, limitations as to tax rates and debts con-
tracting power and such other information as may be useful to the
governing body and to the voters of the municipality in the con-
sideration of any proposal to issue bonds.
