534 TflWN OF TAOS ORDINANCES YEAR; NUMBER: 53 S� ORDINANCE NO. S AN ORDINANCE PROHIBITING THE PARKING OF AUTOMOBILES, OTHER THAN EMERGENCY VEHICLES WHILE IN EMERGENCY DUTY, ON THE SOUTH SIDE OF NORTH PLAZA STREET FROM EAST PLAZA ON THE EAST TO WEST PLAZA STREET ON THE WEST, AND PROVIDING A PENALTY. WHEREAS, the increased use of North Plaza Street for vehicular traffic causes congestion in same requiring the exercise of the governmental powers of the Town of Taos for the regulation thereof to promote the public safety and con- venience . BE IT ORDAINED by the Town Council of the Town of Taos , New Mexico, as follows : Section 1. It shall be unlawful for any person to park a vehicle, other than an emergency vehicle while on emergency duty, on the South side of North Plaza Street from East Plaza Street on the East to West Plaza Street on the west. Section 2. Any person violating the provisions of this Ordinance shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and shall upon con- viction of such offense be punished by a fine of not less than $1.00 nor more than $10.00 or by imprisonment of not more than five days in the County jail, or by both such fine and imprison- ment, at the discretion of the Court.
