AN ORDINANCE PROHIBITING THE PARKING OF AUTOMOBILES, OTHER THAN EMERGENCY VEHICLES Oii EMERGENCY DUTY, BETWEEN THE }HOURS OF 7:00 A. M. AND 7:00 P. M. , ON THE WEST SIDE OF NORTH PUEBLO ROAD FROM A POINT WHERE NORTH PUEBLO ROAD MEETS WITH U. S. HIGHWAY #61+ ON THE SOUTH TO MARTYR'S LANE ON THE NORTH, AND ON THE EAST SIDE OF SOUTH PUEBLO ROAD FROM THE INTERSECTION OF U. S. HIGHWAY #64 AND N. M. STATE HIGHWAY #3 ON THE NORTH TO QUESNEL PLACE IN THE SOUTH, AND PROVIDING A PENALTY. WHEREAS, the increased use of the public streets of the Town of Taos has created traffic congestion in certain areas requiring the exercise of the governmental powers of the Town of Taos for the regulation thereof for the pr?.me purpose of relieving traffic and street congestion, to prevent accidents, and to accelerate traffic and thus promote the public safety and convenience, and , WHEREAS, there exists a severe traffic problem in both North and South Pueblo Road near the intersection of U. S. Highway #64 and N. M. State Highway #3. BE IT ORDAINED by the Town Council of the Town of Taos , New Mex;co as follows: Section 1. It shall be unlawful for any person to nark a vehicle of any kind from 7 :00 o'clock A. M. to 7:00 o'clock P. M. , other than emergencv vehicles while on emergency duty, on the West side of North Pueblo Road from a point where North Pueblo Road meets U. S. Hi.lphway #64 on the South to Martyr's Lane on the North. Section 2. It shall be unlawful for any person to park a vehicle of anv kind from 7:00 o' clock A. M. to 7 :00 o'clock P. M. , other than emergency vehicles on emergency duty, at any time on the East side of South Pueblo Road from a point where U. S. Highway 964 and N. M. State Highway #3 meet on the North , to Quesnel. Place on the South. Section 3. Any person violating the provisions of this Ordinance shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and shall, upon conviction of such offense, be punished by a fine of not less than $1.00 nor more than $10.00 or by imprisonment of not more than five days in the County jail, or by both such fine and imprisonment, at the discretion of the Court. Section 4. In the event that any section or part or parts of this Ordinance shall at any time be held invalid, such invalidity shall not affect the remainder thereof which portion or portions shall remain in full force and effect. Section 5. Any Ordinance, or parts of Ordinances, in conflict herewith are hereby repealed.
