There being no changes or amendments, Councilman Himes moved that the minutes be approved as mead. The motion was seconded by Councilman Sam V. Martinez and carried. ORDINANCES: Upon a motion made bu Councilman Himes and seconded by Councilman Sam V. Martinez, and carried, the Tan^ Town Council adopted an Ordinance prohibiting the obstruction of the flow of drainage or flood maters on the Ls Cruces Arroyo and providing the means of enforcement. An Ordinance prohibiting the making of a left turn from "ass- :yrs Lane unto Placitas Road and providing a penalty was duly adopted by the 'nunciZ upon a motion made by Counci Zman Sam V. Martinez and seconded by Mrs. ; ;aut Zer, and carried. The Town Attorney now presented a proposed Ordinance raising the rate of parking meters located on the Plaza and on old Santa Fe Road from 050 to 104 per hour. The Ordinance also establishc;.,, the rate on the parking meters which are to be located on the C:uadaZupe Plaza Parking lot at the rate of 100 per hour. After discusion and consideration, Councilman Himes moved that the Ordinance establishing parking meter rates be adopted. The motion was seconded by Council- man Sam V. Martinez and carried. The Town Attorney now introduced an ordincmce relating to occupation taxes in the Tam of Taos. The proposed Ordinance was read in full by the :"own Clerk and the Attorney. In discussing the Ordinance, the Mayor and the Taos Town Council were of the opinion that the Ordinance would equalize taxes for all firms, Corporations, and other business associations in the Town of Taos. The proposed Ordinancw will repeaZ Ordinance No. 504, but the repealing clause does not repeat any part of any ordinance imposing another tax or Zicen-se ,fee or any other tax. Councilman Himes now moved that the Occunation Tax Ordinance as read be approved and adopted in its entirety. The motion was seconded by CounciZmember Mrs. Beutler and on roll call, members of the Council voted that the Ocupation Tax Ordinance be adopted. Thereupon the Ordinance was declared duly adopted and passed. OPENING OF BIDS FOR 20 DUPLEX PARKING METERS. In regard to the request made by the Town Council for sealed bids for the purchase of 20 duplex Parking meters, the Clerk informed the r'ounciZ that only one bid had been submitted. The proposal and bid from the Duncan Parking Meter ^orporation was now opened and listed as follows: Duncan Duplex Meter, Two car spaces per unit: Complete meter head, prepared in a time and rate combination as specified by thn Town, with open or ejector type coin box, and painted Aluminum, GunmetaZ or gold color, at no addition cost to the Town------------------Per Unit ZZ2.50 Less Customer Discount 8.00 Total Z05.50 Cash Discount: Five percent-Sixty: Days Alternative method of payment: The Town may remit fifty percent of the revenue monthly or two dollars per car space per month or any other terms as may be mutually agreed upon. ! j ORDINANCE NO, , j� AN ORDINANCE RAISING THE PARKING METER FEE FROM FIVE CENTS (5t ) PER HOUR TO TEN CENTS (100) PER HOUR WHEREAS, the financial needs of the Town of Taos are such that it is imperative to raise the parking meter fees of the meters within the Town of Taos , and , WHEREAS, the Town of Taos has found it necessary to provide additional parking space and thus incurred additional obligations to pay for said space, B.F. IT THEREFORE ORDAINED BY THE MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF TAOS that the parking meter fee be raised from five cents (50) per hour to ten cents (100) per hour of parking on the Plaza, on the municipal parking lot located in the Old Church property, and on Old Santa Fe Road . A violation of this Ordinance shall be considered a petty misdemeanor and punished as such. i Any Ordinances or parts of Ordinances in conflict here- with are hereby repealed.
