AN ORDINANCE PROHIBITIN^ THE OBSTRUCTION OF THE FLOW OF DRAINAGX
OF .FLOOD WATERS ON LAS 0RJCES ARROYO AND PROVIDING A MEANS OF EN-
FORCEMENT
WHEREAS, that certain drainage channel through the Town of
Taos known as Las Cruces Arroyo in times of excess rain carries
the flood waters from the area to the southeast of the Town of Taos
and provides the means by which said water is conducted in such a
manner as to diminish or prohibit flood damage into adjacent areas,
and i
WHEREAS, it would be detrimental to the public safety if
such Arroyo was ever obstructed by any of the land owners adjacent
to same or across whose property said Arroyo is 'Located;
BE IT THEREFORE ORDAINED BY THE M_4YOR AND COUNCIL OF THE TOWN
OF TAOS, that the flow of water on the said Las Cruces Arroyo is here-
by prohibited;
IT IS FURTHER ORDAINED, that the impeding of the flow over
said Arroyo be and sa—w is hereby considered to be a nuisance and
subject to injunction as such.
DONE AND PASSED AT TAOS, NEW MEXICO, on this the Zst day of
November, 1965.
