618 i TOWN OF TAGS ORDINANCES YEAR: NUMBER: ORDINANCE NO i �D AN ORDINANCE PROHIBITING THE ERECTION OF ADVERTISING SIGNS WITHIN THE TOWN OF T70 S PRIOR"TO THE ACQUISITION OF A PERMIT FROM THE TOWN CLERK UPON APPROVAL OF THE SIGN BY THE CITY PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION, SETTING FEES FOR THE REGULATION AND ENFORCEMENT OF THIS ORDINANCE , AND PROVIDING A PENALTY. Be it ordained by the Mayor and the Council of the Town of Taos , New Mexico, that it shall be illegal for anyone to put up an advertising sign before first obtaining a permit for the erection of such sign, and any such sign is first to be approved by the City Planning and Zoning Commission. The placing of a sign without a permit shall constitute breach of this Ordinance and shall subject the person to a fine not to exceed Two Hundred Dollars ($2Q0.00) and shall constitute grounds for injunctive relief to prohibit the continuation of the illegal sign. The Town Clerk shall issue permits to all permittees who have received approval from the City Planning and Zoning Commission and shall charge a fee of $1.00 per square foot with a minimum charge of $5.00 per sign.
