ORDINANCE NO. 636
AN ORDINANCE REQUIRING THE CLEANING OF EMPTY
0 LOTS AND PROVIDING PENALTIES FOR NON-COMPLIANCE.

j BE IT ORDAINED by the Mayor and Council of the Town of
Taos that,
WHEREAS, the accumulation of weeds and combustible debris
on empty lots constitutes a hazard to the health and welfare of
the citizenry of the Town of Taos and,
WHEREAS, voluntary compliance with previous requests has
gone unheeded by the owners of said lots,
The failure of the owners of empty lots to keep them
clean and free from weeds and debris shall constitute a misdemeanor
and any persons found guilty of the violation of this Ordinance
shall be punished as such. The Town shall further be at liberty
at its option to clean the debris or combustible materials from
said lots and charge the cost of doing so to the owner upon ten
days notice of the violation of this Ordinance and of the fact
that the Town shall proceed to clean the land to comply therewith.
