Any person convicted of the violation of this Ordinance, or E� any portion thereof, is subject to a fine or fines as follows: i? (a) For failure to pay the parking rate as ordained, a fine t of Three Dollars ($3.00) for each violation shall be is imposed. (b) For failure to park a vehicle entirely within the designated area pertaining to the meter at which the vehicle is parked, a fine of Four Dollars ($4.00) shall be imposed for such violation. I i' (c) For parking a vehicle behind any vehicle which is ` parked diagonally at any meter location or for parking alongside any vehicle parked horizontally i at any meter location, a fine of Three Dollars ($3.00) �? shall be imposed for each violation. t , (d) For parking a vehicle beside or along a fireplug, a fine of ten Dollars ($10.00) shall be imposed for Ij each violation. At such meeting the Council will adopt an Ordinance regulating the use of parking meters and regulating the parking of vehicles in certain designated areas within the corporate limits of the Town of Taos, New Mexico; repealing ordinances in conflict herewith; and providing penaltfLes. The title and subject matter of such proposed Ordinance is as follows: AN ORDINANCE REGULATING THE USE OF PARKING METERS AND REGULATING THE PARKING OF VEHICLES IN CERTAIN DESIGNATED REAS WITHIN THE CORPORATE LIM- ITS OF THE TOWN OF V-OS, NEW MEXICO; REPEALING OR- DINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; AND PROVIDING PENAL- TIES The following paragraphs sets forth that Ordinance 'No. 639, be amemded to amend the following Section and Paragraphs: SECTION 9. Any person convicted of the violation of this Ordinance, or portion thereof, is subject to a fine or fines as follows: a. PROVIDING PENALTIES. i BE IT ORDAINED BY THE GOVERNING BODY OF THE TOWN OF TAOS, NEW MEXICO, as follows: �I Section 1. That par'Xing of vehicles shall be regulated by the pa-rking f ± meters installed in those areas lying within the limits of the Town �f Taos i wherein said meters are installed, and in the manner hereinafter provided. � 1 Section 2. Parking shall be allowed at the rate of five cents (51) for j thirty (30) minutes, ten rents (10¢1) for one (1) hour, twenty-five cents (2V) 1 II for two (2) hours or less. 1 Section 3. It shall. be unlawful for any person to park a vehicle at any �jmeter without paying the rate prescribed in Section 2 above. Section i1. It shall be unlawful for any person to park a vehicle at a meter anywhere except within the area marked and pertaining to that meter, Section 5. It shall be unlawful for any person to park a vehicle behind I; a vehicle which is parked diagonally at any meter location, Section 6. It shall be unlawful for any person to park a vehicle a.long- side any vehicle parked horizontally in any meter location. s' Section 7. (b) For failure to park a vehicle entirely within the designated area pertaining to the meter at which the vehicle is parked, a fine of Two Dollars ($2.00) shall be imposed for such violation. i (c) For parking a vehicle behind any vehicle which is parked diagonally at any meter location or for parking alongside any vehicle parked horizoatally at any meter location, a fine of Two Dollars ($2.00) shall be imposed for each violation (d) For parking a vehicle beside or along a fireplug, a fine of Five Dollars ($5.00) shall be imposed Ifor each violation. , (e) For parking a vehicle in such a way as to block any alley or driveway, a fine of Two Dollars ($2.00) shall be imposed for each violation. Section 10. Any person charged with the violation of this Ordinance may, within five (5) days, from the date of said charge pay to the Clerk of the Town of Taos the amount of the fine above prescribed for the violation charged. 1 , Section 11. Any person charged with the violation of this Ordinance is 1� entitled to and may have a hearing before the Municipal Magistrate of the To�*n 11 of Taos, and at said hearing may present evidence and be heard on the issue ii concerning the violation charged. , i Section 12. The Clerk of the Town of Taos shall petition the Police i ; Magistrate for a bench warrant for the arrest of any person who fails to Day I the above prescribed fine for the violation charged, or, who, within .five (5) days from the date cf said charge fails to request a hearing and fails to ap- pear at the time a::d day set for said hearing. The Magistrate shall issue the '! bench warrant and set the matter for hearing as is the practive of other jsimilar cases in said Court. 1i I � 1 Section 13. Any person against whom a bench warrant is issued pursuant to the authority contained in the next preceding section above shall be sub- ject to a penalty not to exceed Ten Dollars (10.00) for each offense over and above the amount of the fine or fines imposed, plus Court costs. Section 14. Ordinance No. 225 and 225A and Ordinance No. 547 and all other Ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby expressly repealed.
